يشغل Stasi Museum المبنى House 1 ضمن المقر السابق لوزارة أمن الدولة في ألمانيا الشرقية في Lichtenberg، والذي شُيّد عامي 1960 و1961 ليكون المقر الرسمي لرئيس جهاز Stasi، المدعو Erich Mielke. افتتحته عام 1990 جمعية الحقوق المدنية ASTAK، وهو يسرد قصة تشكّل هذا الجهاز الذي لُقّب بـ "درع الحزب وسيفه"، وآليات عمله، وهوية العاملين فيه. ويعتمد المعرض الدائم "أمن الدولة في ظل ديكتاتورية حزب الوحدة الشعبية الاشتراكي" (State Security in the SED Dictatorship) على ملفات Stasi والصور ومعدات المراقبة، وتبرز في قلبه مجموعة مكاتب Mielke الخاصة، التي حُفظت بتفاصيلها كما تركها تماماً.
