Progettata nel 1963 da Philip Johnson con Richard Foster come residenza di David e Carmen Kreeger, questa villa rivestita in travertino, caratterizzata da volumi cubici, volte a crociera e cupole, ha aperto al pubblico come museo nel 1994. La collezione spazia dagli anni cinquanta dell'Ottocento a oggi: nove dipinti di Claude Monet, un nucleo di opere di Picasso che ne ripercorre l'intera carriera e lavori di Renoir, Sisley, Pissarro, Degas, Cezanne, Munch, Kandinsky, Chagall e Miro, affiancati da esponenti della scena artistica di Washington come Sam Gilliam, Gene Davis e Thomas Downing. All'esterno, la Sculpture Terrace e lo Sculpture Garden si estendono su oltre due ettari di parco alberato con sculture di Henry Moore, Isamu Noguchi, Jean Arp, Aristide Maillol, Jacques Lipchitz e George Rickey.
