Il Photography Seoul Museum of Art (Photo SeMA) ha aperto a Chang-dong, nel distretto di Dobong-gu, nel maggio 2025, come primo e unico museo d’arte pubblico della Corea dedicato alla fotografia. Progettato dall’architetto austriaco Mladen Jadric con lo studio coreano 1990uao, presenta una facciata sinuosa di sei piani che evoca immagini a pixel fotosensibili. Il museo custodisce oltre 20.000 opere fotografiche e materiali d’archivio che documentano la storia della fotografia coreana dagli anni Venti in poi, oltre a sale espositive, una biblioteca fotografica, camere oscure e un café dedicato ai libri fotografici. L’ingresso è gratuito.
