Il Museo Cerralbo occupa la sontuosa residenza madrilena che il XVII marchese di Cerralbo fece costruire tra gli anni Ottanta e Novanta dell’Ottocento per esporvi le proprie collezioni. Poco alterato da quando fu aperto al pubblico, nel 1944, il palazzo conserva dipinti, armature, reperti archeologici, monete e arti decorative esattamente come il marchese li aveva disposti nei suoi saloni dorati, nella sala da ballo e nella biblioteca. Offre un intimo viaggio nel tempo, in netto contrasto con i più grandi musei statali di Madrid.
