El Sigmund Freud Museum ocupa l'apartament de la Berggasse 19 on Freud va viure i treballar des del 1891 fins que es va veure obligat a fugir, l'any 1938, d'una Àustria annexionada pel règim nazi. Inaugurat el 1971 amb l'assistència d'Anna Freud, l'espai es va renovar i ampliar el 2020: avui dia permet recórrer totes les estances privades de la família, a més de les consultes de Sigmund i Anna Freud, inclosa la sala d'espera original. L'edifici acull també una destacada biblioteca d'investigació sobre psicoanàlisi, una col·lecció d'art conceptual i exposicions temporals dedicades a la psicoanàlisi i a la seva història.
