El museu Edo-Tokyo Museum ressegueix la transformació de la ciutat des del període Edo fins a l’actualitat mitjançant reconstruccions a escala real, maquetes detallades i objectes d’ús quotidià. La seva emblemàtica Permanent Exhibition ocupa dues plantes i s’obre amb una rèplica a mida natural del pont de Nihonbashi, abans de conduir els visitants per l’Edo Zone i la Tokyo Zone. El museu va reobrir el 31 de març de 2026, després d’un tancament de gairebé quatre anys per dur a terme la primera gran renovació des de la seva inauguració el 1993. La concepció dels espais ha anat a càrrec de l’arquitecte Shohei Shigematsu.
