El Musée Cognacq-Jay ocupa l'Hôtel de Donon, una mansió del segle XVI al cor del Marais. Les seves sales íntimes i revestides de fusta recreen un interior del segle XVIII ple de l'art que els fundadors dels grans magatzems, Ernest Cognacq i Marie-Louise Jaÿ, van reunir entre 1900 i 1925. Entre les peces destacades hi ha pintures de Boucher, Fragonard i Chardin, pastels de Maurice-Quentin de La Tour, escultures, porcellana de Saxònia, tabaqueres i mobiliari segellat. L'accés a la col·lecció permanent és gratuït.
