Time Space Geometry
Olivo Barbieri's solo show of five photo series using optical interventions and aerial views, from Anatolian sites to Istanbul, waterfalls and the Alps.

Nine ancient Anatolian cities, Ephesus, Aphrodisias and Hierapolis among them, photographed from the air with the focus held on one strip so the rest blurs. Barbieri says these sites were built to "precise mathematical laws", and from above the theatres read as exactly that. The series was made for this show and is shown for the first time.
Four older series follow: Istanbul, Los Angeles and London shot from above until they look like models, the world's biggest waterfalls with their floodlights and tourist terraces, climbers made tiny by the Alps, and Capri in pastel filters. You see them in the Perili Köşk's offices rather than white galleries, with the Bosphorus outside. Borusan Holding works here on weekdays, which makes it the only office in Istanbul where you'd happily spend your Saturday.
One ticket (350 TL, free for under-12s) covers this and Haunted, the collection show in the same building. It opens Saturdays and Sundays only, 10:00 to 19:00, with free 40-minute guided tours at 11:00, 13:00, 15:00 and 17:00.

Look for the ancient city of Aphrodisias seen from the air across three large panels, part of the nine-city series made for this show.
Istanbul from a helicopter
A 2011 aerial shot from the site specific_ series, where selective focus makes the city around you look almost like a scale model.
The staged waterfalls
Some of the world's biggest falls, from Cambodia to Zimbabwe and Canada to Brazil, shown with the lights, terraces and tourist buildings built around them.
Climbers in the Alps
Small figures on cliffs and snowy slopes, dwarfed by the peaks the way the lone traveller is in Caspar David Friedrich's paintings.
