Inaugurat el 2004 a l'antic casino d'oficials de la Landwehr (1909), d'estil neoclàssic i situat davant de Bahnhof Zoo, el Museum für Fotografie acull conjuntament la Helmut Newton Foundation i la Col·lecció de Fotografia de la Kunstbibliothek (Staatliche Museen zu Berlin). La Newton Foundation ocupa la planta baixa i el primer pis amb exposicions temporals dedicades a Helmut Newton i Alice Springs, mentre que la Kunstbibliothek presenta mostres del seu fons a la planta superior, al Kaisersaal restaurat. Els monumentals Big Nudes de Newton reben els visitants al vestíbul superior.
