A foyer exhibition marking Friederike Kaiser's 25 years leading the Alpine Museum, tracing how she shaped it through exhibitions, events and research on mountain culture.
Every special exhibition Friederike Kaiser had a major hand in is here as a poster on the wall. She ran the Alpine Museum from 2000 until January 2026, and the DAV counts about 25 special exhibitions in that time, plus a new permanent display and the rebuild of the museum itself.
So this is a small show: posters in the foyer, no objects. Among the larger projects the DAV credits to her are "Berg Heil! Alpenverein und Bergsteigen 1918–1945", on the club's history in those years, and "Hoch hinaus! Wege und Hütten in den Alpen", on paths and huts. At a Munich office Ausstand, the person leaving brings the Brezn; Kaiser got a foyer of her own work instead.
It works best if you already know the museum or are on Praterinsel for Darum Berge anyway. You don't need a ticket: entry is free. The last day is Sunday 1 November, as the museum is closed on Mondays.
You want objects rather than graphics: it is a wall of exhibition posters in the foyer.
