Antoni Tàpies margolariak 1984an sortua eta gaur egun Museu Tàpies izenez ezagutzen dena, haren lanen bildumarik osoenetako bat dauka, gehiena Antoni eta Teresa Tàpiesek emana. 1990ean ireki zituen ateak Montaner y Simón argitaletxe izandakoaren egoitzan (1880–82), Lluís Domènech i Montanerrek egindako Modernista estiloko eraikin aitzindarian. Eixampleko lehen eraikina izan zen ageriko adreilua eta burdina hiriaren erdigunera ekartzen. Tàpiesek fatxada Núvol i cadira (Cloud and Chair) alanbre nahasiz egindako eskulturarekin errematatu zuen. Tàpiesen lanen erakusketa aldakorrez gain, museoak arte garaikideko erakusketak antolatzen ditu eta argitaletxearen jatorrizko apaletan arte-liburutegi espezializatua gordetzen du.
