The Saatchi Gallery made its name showcasing the Young British Artists in the 1990s and continues to champion emerging and under-represented artists. The grand military building gives artists enormous white-walled rooms to fill, and shows rotate frequently. It's more hit-and-miss than established institutions — some shows are revelatory, others feel thin — but when it hits, it's one of the most exciting galleries in London. Usually free, which makes it an easy bet.
